Growing Advancements of Basic Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, & Tissue Healing
Course Description
During this two-day hands-on training workshop, you will explore the ever-growing advancements in basic orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and tissue healing. The focus will be on the most common areas requested and needed for treatment in athletes and non-athletes.
The lecture will include an introduction to the history and new developments in the use of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), Prolotherapy, and others, as well as a brief analysis of their physiologic components and benefits.
Lessons will include:
- Current stance of Stem Cell Medicine will also be discussed, and a demonstration of Stem Cell extraction will be performed by an expert in the field
- Significant focus on pertinent tissue anatomy and physiology (muscle, tendon, bursa, bone, and joint), as well as diagnostic criteria that will assist the student in choosing when and how to treat (the cornerstone to safe and effective treatment)
- Discussion on the mechanism of action, safety and efficacy issues, management and treatment of complications, activation guidelines, and comprehensive information on proper injection techniques and placement, for the desired outcome
- Insight on how to succeed with this unique business model. Learn about price structuring, insurance reimbursement, market trends, identifying red flags in stem cell companies, and client retention.
During the hands-on session, we will cover the Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound criteria for identifying, visualizing, diagnosing, and mapping areas for injection. We will also discuss and observe Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Needle Guidance to help maximize the effectiveness of treatment and ensure proper injection placement. You will have an opportunity to observe and assist in the injections when applicable.

Who is this course for?
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of clinicians (physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, physician assistants, and dentists) involved in the care of patients seeking aesthetic enhancement procedures.
What will each attendee receive upon completion of the course?
Each attendee will receive a course manual, PP slide deck, a dropbox link with supporting forms and templates of practice documents such as consents, standardized procedure and protocol policies, purchasing sources, procedure video, and more. A certification of hands-on training will be provided upon completion of the course (mailed within 2 weeks).
What is your cancellation policy?
Please note: All cancellations must be received (not postmarked) in writing via mail or fax transmission. Cancellation Policy must be strictly enforced since workshops require a great deal of planning and preparation.
A refund will be given, less a $250.00 processing fee, if canceled at least 14 days prior to the start of the workshop. Any cancellations after this time will not qualify for a refund but may be used toward a future workshop with the approval of the administrative department of ESI.
Since a minimum number of registrants are necessary for each course and we do not meet this minimum, or for any other reason beyond our control the course is canceled or postponed, the registration fee will be refunded in full.
