Course Prerequisite: The Assumption and Prerequisite for this course is that the attendee is an experienced injector with 6mo-1yr of continuous injecting experience. The treatment “must” be performed by specially trained and certified medical professionals.
This Course is pre-scheduled at the Fort Lauderdale Location, and available privately by appointment in CA and New England.
Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of clinicians (physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, physician assistants, and dentists) with substantial injecting experience of Dermal Fillers in the care of patients seeking advanced aesthetic enhancement procedures.
PLLA (Sculptra Aesthetic®) is a polylactic acid product that works to replace lost collagen. As we age our collagen production decreases and results in the development of facial wrinkles, loose skin, loss of facial volume, as well as deep facial folds. PLLA (PolyLactic Acid) works to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds due to its bio-stimulatory effect on collagen providing a refined, more youthful looking appearance. Generally, 2-3 injection sessions are needed to be spaced over a period of several months, whereby noticeable results emerge subtly with lasting results over 2 years.
This one-day “premiere” hands-on workshop will provide a morning didactic overview of history, chemical and biological properties, biodegradation, facial anatomy and physiology, facial aging, appropriate selection of indications for treatment. The presentation will include contraindications, complications, and side effects, as well as prevention and management of complications. During the training, you will learn special techniques to correct deep folds, sunken cheeks, wrinkles and lines in the cheeks or chin, and deep scars. Live demonstration explaining the procedure and techniques will bolster your knowledge to ultimately prepare you for the hands-on practice sessions. With ESI’s low student-to-instructor ratio, our intense afternoon hands-on sessions led by our expert instructors will provide a tailored one-on-one experience. Each attendee will receive a PP deck slide, CD loaded with practice documents such as consent form, standardized procedure and protocol policies, purchasing sources and more.
NURSE CONTINUING EDUCATION
Upon successful completion of the entire activity and successful return demonstration, participants will be granted 8 contact hours (CE). No partial credit will be granted.
