Dr. Adherbal “Herb” De Souza Neto, DNP, WHNP-BC, MEP-C, boasts more than two decades of experience within the field of healthcare– as well as specializing in medical aesthetics for almost fifteen of those years.

Herb received his undergraduate certificate in Chemistry and Bachelor’s degree in Education in English translation-interpretation (ESL) while attending UFJF (Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora) and Faculdade Ibero Americana in Brazil. There, has taught in private, public, and foreign language institutes as well as in the United States of America, which where he attended North Idaho College, receiving his A.D.N. in 1992.

Herb worked with infusion companies, home health care, and several area hospital ICU’s before switching his focus over to aesthetics. He was trained in Sclerotherapy, medical esthetics, and Botox® by the Eclectic Skin Institute in early 2001. He continued build upon his aesthetic services by becoming certified in volumizers, Microdermabrasion, dermal fillers and mesotherapy/lipodissolve, carboxytherapy, advanced skin care therapies, and Platelet Rich Plasma with the Esthetic Skin Institute. Other services he provides include hair removal services with the most current laser, skin tightening and rejuvenation, IPL, and radiofrequency procedures. His most recent accomplishment is becoming certified in non-surgical facelift and facial contouring using polydioxinone (PDO) threads from institutes in both Canada and South Korea.

Herb created Shining Way Esthetics in 2001 in Houston, Texas, where it began as a small-business-owned medical spa. In the years since, Shining Way Esthetics has grown to provide services in Houston, Dallas, and Beaumont, Texas while also expanding throughout the tri-county region of South Florida, from Miami to West Palm Beach.

Since 2003, along with continuing to providing medical spa services, Herb has been a member of the training and teaching faculty for the Esthetic Skin Institute, which is one of the most sought out certification and training institutions for medical aesthetics in the country. Additionally, he regularly attends several medical aesthetic workshops and conferences both inside the U.S. as well as internationally.

Continuing his unending pursuit of self-improvement, he then achieved board certification from the University of South Alabama as a nurse practitioner in women’s health in 2012. He then graduated from Chatham University with his doctoral degree in nursing in 2015 with a doctoral capstone focused on bruising prevention and management in aesthetic medicine. Herb is now working to publish his work in several renowned dermatological and medical publications as well as working to become certified with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) as he hopes to incorporate anti-aging and wellness into his practice.

A member of the Intravenous Nurse Society (INS), Herb was also a chairman of the Houston chapter in 1997, and is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society in Nursing, as well as the Houston Interpreters Translations Association (HITA), the Zeta Gamma chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing, and the Society for Clinical and Medical Hair Removal (SCMHR). He was also elected as President of the American Academy of Medical Esthetic Professionals (AAMEP) in September of 2015.
