Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of clinicians (Physicians, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Practical Nurses, Physician Assistants, Dentists, and Medical Assistants by special arrangement) involved in the care of patients seeking aesthetic enhancement procedures.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This one-day intensive hands-on training workshop will give an overview of how lasers, pulsed light (IPL), RF systems work, including the physics of lasers & IPL’s. Presentation on the most commonly used dermatologic lasers and devices and their parameters. An overview of the anatomy & physiology of skin and hair, parameters for permanent hair reduction, facial rejuvenation, pigment removal, vascular lesions, and tattoo removal will be presented. The comprehensive didactic will include Laser/IPL skin interaction, skin typing, and safety measures. The presentation will include ANSI guidelines and the Laser Safety Officer Criteria and Certification. A comprehensive discussion on management and treatment of adverse events will be presented along with benefits, expected results and outcomes, and available alternative treatments. Discussion on the importance of patient selection and consultation, education, safety and efficacy issues, as well as other pertinent criteria for a successful treatment outcome, will be presented. The afternoon will provide hands-on practicum sessions, supervised by our “expert” instructors and will include the use of Laser, & IPL. During the course, you will gain valuable insight and pearls on the “how to” of this unique business model for optimal success that will include market trends, and retention of your client base. Each attendee will receive a course manual, PP slide deck, a Dropbox loaded with supporting forms and templates of practice documents such as consents, standardized procedure and protocol policies, purchasing sources, and more. A certification of hands-on training will be provided upon completion of the course (mailed within 2 weeks).

Note: This course is not approved for CME Cat 1, however this course is designed with optimal criteria which may be eligible for CME Category II credits, which are self-submitted by the practitioner to their respective State Board. Physicians and PA’s should only submit and claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Please note: All cancellations must be received (not postmarked) in writing via mail or fax transmission. Cancellation Policy must be strictly enforced since workshops require a great deal of planning and preparation.
- A refund will be given, less a $200.00 processing fee, if canceled at least 14 days prior to the start of the workshop. Any cancellations after this time will not qualify for a refund but may be used toward a future workshop with the approval of the administrative department of ESI.
- Since a minimum number of registrants are necessary for each course and we do not meet this minimum, or for any other reason beyond our control the course is canceled or postponed, the registration fee will be refunded in full. Please note, ESI is not responsible for deposits to hotels, non-refundable airline tickets or fees associated with necessary airline changes.
