It is also within the Scope of an LPN and LVN to administer medications via IM, SQ, ID, and in some cases IV under the orders and guidance of a physician.
A: The answer is NO. The Nurse Practice Act of all states in this country states, that a nurse must always work under the orders/guidance of a physician.
A: A Nurse cannot be “sponsored” by a physician. The nurse must work under the orders and guidance/supervision of a physician.
A: In most states a Nurse Practitioner can work independently with a collaborating physician in place, however, there are some states that allow Nurse Practitioners total independent practice.
A: In most states, estheticians are governed by a cosmetology board and it is not within the scope of practice for an esthetician to inject or administer any medications.
