COURSE OBJECTIVES AND AGENDA
Statement of Need
Aesthetic Medicine is an emerging specialty driven by experiential growth. As new treatment modalities, new medications, devices and advanced technologies emerge, this proposes a need for well trained and competent professionals to deliver these services.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Explain the Physics & Mechanism of Action of Lasers and Pulsed Light Devices
- Discuss benefits, expectations, & results associated with laser & pulsed light devices
- Outline principles of selection appropriate for treatment of various cosmetic indications with use of cosmetic lasers and pulsed light devices
- Describe measures to minimize complications and sub-optimal results
- Explain the contraindications and precautions associated with laser & pulsed light
- Explain proper management of complications associated with laser & pulsed light
- Describe and Demonstrate technique and safe operation of laser & pulsed light devices
