COURSE OBJECTIVES AND AGENDA
Statement of Need
Aesthetic Medicine is an emerging specialty driven by experiential growth. As new treatment modalities, new medications, devices and advanced technologies emerge, this proposes a need for well trained and competent professionals to deliver these services.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Outline the characteristics of various dermal filler agents available for use
- Outline principles of selection appropriate for treatment of various cosmetic indications including hyaluronic acid filling agents
- Describe pain management options including use of dental blocks, infiltration anesthesia, and topical anesthetic agents
- Explain the contraindications and precautions of hyaluronic acid filling agents
- Explain proper management of complications associated with hyaluronic acid filling agents
- Describe injection techniques using hyaluronic acid filling agents
